Dear Families of Communication Station,
As the news around the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) changes, we have decided to close our office from March 16 – March 21, 2020. All Early Intervention and Preschool services for the week will not take place at any location (homes, office, daycares, or preschools). We will assess the current status of the pandemic on March 21, 2020 to make decisions about providing services to your child during the week of March 23 – 27, 2020.
This decision may change if we are directed otherwise by New York State Bureau of Early Intervention or the Orange County Department of Health. We will be keeping track of all of the missed sessions and will work together to schedule as many makeups as possible.
Some of you have inquired about telepractice (virtual online therapy sessions). As of right now, Orange County Intervention Services or the New York State Bureau of Early Intervention has not approved the use of telepractice. We will keep you posted if this becomes an option.
All of our providers have expressed their concerns for your children during this time. We are excited to announce that we will be offering videos on Facebook and YouTube for you to watch with your children. We will also be posting suggestions and ideas on how you can continue to help your children progress in their development. Please note: these videos are not to be considered as speech-language therapy or special education services.
